Use a white paper towel to absorb as much of the liquid as you can. Make sure to blot the stain, not rub it. Rubbing will only spread stain further into the fabric.
Fill a shallow bowl with cold water. Add a few drops of laundry detergent to the bowl, and stir to form suds. Dip the stained area of your jeans into the suds, and then gently rub suds onto the stain. Do this for around 1 minute, and then rinse the garment under cold water.
In another bowl, mix together enough laundry detergent and water to make a paste. Carefully apply the paste to the stain using a cloth or a soft brush. Allow the paste to sit on the stain for around 10 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water.
Put your jeans in the machine and select a cold water, delicate cycle. Add the recommended dosage of laundry detergent to machine. This will help to further break down the tomato stain.
If the stain still remains, treat it with a mixture of vinegar and water. Mix equal parts of vinegar and cold water in a bowl. Dip a cloth into the mixture and rub it onto the stain. Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes, and then rinse off with cold water.
Place your jeans in the dryer, on the lowest heat setting. Once they are completely dry, check the stain. If the stain is still visible, repeat steps 1-5 until stain is fully removed.
