What You Need:
- Dish soap or laundry detergent
- White vinegar
- Toothbrush
- Clean, white cloth
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Cold water
Instructions:
- Start by flipping the shirt inside out so that stain is on the inside.
- Mix 1 teaspoon of dish soap or laundry detergent with 2 tablespoons of white vinegar and 2 cups of cold water.
- Soak the shirt in the solution for 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, take the shirt out and brush the stain lightly with a toothbrush. Be sure not to rub too harshly.
- Rinse the shirt off with cold water and examine the stain. If the stain is still present, soak shirt in a solution of 1 teaspoon of dish soap or laundry detergent, 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide, and 2 cups of cold water for another 15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes, rinse the shirt off and brush lightly with a toothbrush. The stain should be gone.
- If the stain is still present, soak shirt in a solution of 1 teaspoon of dish soap or laundry detergent, 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, and 2 cups of cold water for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, rinse the shirt off and brush lightly with a toothbrush. The stain should be gone.
- Finally, if stain is still present, mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 2 tablespoons of white vinegar and 2 cups of cold water. Soak shirt in the solution for another 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, rinse the shirt off and brush lightly with a toothbrush. The stain should be gone.
- Allow the shirt to air dry or tumble dry on a low setting.
Tips:
- This method works best on light-colored clothing.
- The sooner you act, the more successful you will be in removing the stain.
- Always test a small area of the fabric first to make sure it won't damage the color or texture.
