The first step in removing tomato stains from fleece is to rinse the affected area with cold water as soon as possible after the stain has occurred. This will stop the tomato from setting in, making it easier to remove. If the stain has already set in, then use a mild detergent and warm water to gently rub the stain until it loosens.
Next, you can use a few different methods to lift remaining tomato stain. A paste made of baking soda and water can be rubbed onto the stained area and left to sit for up to thirty minutes before being washed off. Additionally, you can use a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid in a cup of warm water, and blot the stain with a cloth or sponge soaked in the solution. Be sure to rinse this solution off thoroughly afterward.
If these methods don’t work, there are also products specifically designed to remove stubborn stains. Use these products according to the directions on package. After the stain has been removed, be sure to launder the fleece as normal so that none of the cleaning products remain.
Following these steps should make quick work of getting tomato stains out of your fleece. With a bit of time and effort, your fleece will look good as new!
