Instructions for Removing Tomato Stains from Double Georgette
- Blot away any excess tomato on the stain. Do not rub or scrub fabric as this may cause the stain to spread and become more difficult to remove.
- Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a bowl. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and dab it onto the stain.
- Let the vinegar mixture sit on the stain for an hour or two. This will help to break down the tomato and make it easier to remove.
- Mix one tablespoon of baking soda with two tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide to make a paste. Apply the paste to the stain and let it sit for 30 minutes.
- Once the paste has set, dampen a clean cloth with water and gently rub at the stain until it lifts out of the fabric.
- Once stain is gone, rinse the area with cold water and let it air dry.
Additional Tips
- Always test a small area of the fabric before using vinegar and baking soda mixture to make sure the fabric won’t be damaged.
- For tougher stains, try using a stain remover specifically designed for delicate fabrics such as silk or satin.
