Start by blotting stain with a dry, absorbent cloth. This will help remove as much of liquid as possible without spreading the stain. Work from the outside in, pressing down gently as you go.
Mix together one teaspoon of a liquid laundry detergent and two cups of cool water. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and apply it to the stain. Be sure to dab, rather than scrub, so as not to spread the stain further.
Once the detergent mixture has been applied, rinse thoroughly with cold water. This will help to remove any remaining detergent residue.
If the stain remains, pre-treat it with a commercial spot remover or pre-wash stain remover. Follow instructions on the product label and allow pre-treater to sit for 15 minutes before laundering.
Wash dobby fabric in hottest water recommended on the care label. Add an extra rinse cycle for good measure. If the stain is still present, repeat pre-treating and laundering steps.
Removing tomato stains from dobby fabric can be a challenge. But with the right products and techniques—and a little patience—you can easily get rid of stubborn tomato stains.
