Tomato stains notoriously linger on fabrics and can be tricky to get out. Luckily, there are some simple methods you can use to lift tomato stains from Dashiki.
It’s important to act quickly on any food stain. Blot away any excess tomato sauce with a clean cloth or napkin. Don’t rub the stain as this can spread it further into the fabric.
Create a paste of baking soda and white vinegar. Apply this to the stain and let it sit for a few minutes. This should help to loosen the tomato stain before laundering.
Machine wash the item of clothing in cold water. Turn the fabric inside out to avoid further staining. Use mild detergent and let the machine do work. Air dry or use a low heat setting on your tumble dryer.
If the tomato stain still won’t budge, consider taking it to a professional cleaner. A professional will have the tools and know-how to treat the stain without damaging the fabric.
It’s easy to panic when faced with a tomato stain on Dashiki, but with a little patience, it can be removed. Always act quickly to blot up the stain and use baking soda and white vinegar to loosen any remaining residue. If the stain still won’t budge, consider taking the garment to a professional cleaner.
