Baking soda treatment

This method is quick and easy, but also quite messy. Sprinkle some baking soda onto the affected area of cutting board and then pour a small amount of hydrogen peroxide over the top. The carbon dioxide released will create bubbles that help to break down the tomato stains. Let the mixture sit on the cutting board for a few minutes, then scrub it off with a soft brush or cloth. Lastly, rinse the cutting board with water and wipe it down with a paper towel or microfiber cloth.

Lemon and salt method

For tougher stains, this method might work better. Cut a lemon in half and squeeze the juice over stained area of the cutting board. Then sprinkle some course salt over the top and use the lemon rind to scrub the board. This should remove any greasy deposits and lift the tomato stains. Once finished, wash cutting board with warm soapy water.

Bleach solution

For deeply rooted tomato stains, this is a good option. Start by mixing a solution of bleach and water in a 1:1 ratio. Then, using a clean sponge or cloth, dab mixture onto stained area of cutting board and let it sit for a few minutes. Next, scrub the area vigorously with a scrubbing brush to loosen the residues. Rinse the cutting board with cold water and allow it to air dry.
