The key to removing tomato stains from gingham cotton is to act fast and use common household supplies. Here’s what you’ll need: dish soap, vinegar, baking soda, bleach (optional).

Start by taking a sponge or cloth dampened with cool water and dabbing the stained area as soon as possible. This will help prevent the stain from setting in.

Once you’ve blotted the stain, it’s time to create a cleaning solution. Mix one teaspoon of dish soap, one tablespoon of white vinegar, and one teaspoon of baking soda in a bowl. Gently stir until all the ingredients are combined.

Your final step is to apply the mixture to stained area and rub gently with the sponge or cloth. You may need to repeat this process several times if stain is particularly stubborn. Alternatively, you can use a dab of undiluted bleach for more difficult stains.

Let solution sit for 10-15 minutes before rinsing with cool water. Now your gingham cotton should be stain free and as good as new!
