What You'll Need

  • Detergent or laundry soap
  • White vinegar
  • Borax
  • Oxygen bleach
  • Stain remover
  • Cotton cloth

Removing the Stain

Before attempting to remove the stain, be sure to read the care instructions on the label of your Chico garment. If label says “dry clean only”, take it to a professional instead.

Step 1: Pre-treat area with one of following solutions:

  • Mix ¼ teaspoon of liquid detergent or laundry soap with 1 cup of cool water and rub it into the tomato stain.
  • Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with 1 cup of cool water and rub it into the tomato stain.
  • Mix 1 teaspoon of Borax with 1 cup of cool water and rub it into the tomato stain.

Step 2: Soak fabric in the pre-treatment solution for 15 minutes.

Step 3: Wash the fabric with oxygen bleach and hottest water temperature specified on the care label.

Step 4: If the stain remains, apply a stain remover and launder again.

Step 5: If the stain is still visible, repeat steps 1–4 as necessary.

Step 6: Let the garment air dry and inspect the area to ensure stain has been completely removed.
