Step #1: Blot the Stain

Immediately remove as much of the tomato sauce as possible. Using a clean, white cloth, carefully blot the stain until it is absorbed.

Step #2: Pre-Treat the Stain

Wet a white cloth with water, then apply a small amount of liquid detergent to the cloth. Gently rub it onto stain in a circular motion. Be sure to use a detergent that is meant for delicate fabrics or handwashing.

Step #3: Rinse and Repeat

Soak stained area for about 15 minutes in cold water, then rinse with a clean white cloth. If necessary, repeat process until the stain is gone. Air dry garment after rinsing.

Tips for Success

  • Before washing, always check the garment's care label to determine the best method.
  • Hot water can set a stain in fabrics, so avoid using it.
  • Be sure to let fabric air dry completely before storing it.
