The most important step when trying to remove a tomato stain from your briefs is to act quickly! Remove the briefs and blot the stain with a clean white cloth. This will help absorb the excess liquid and prevent it from spreading to other areas of fabric.
Spray a generous amount of prewash stain remover directly onto the tomato stain. Allow the pretreatment to rest for five minutes before moving on to the next step.
Fill a sink or basin with cold water and add a cup of laundry detergent. Let the briefs soak in this solution for 30 minutes to allow the stain remover to work its magic.
Once the pre-soaking is complete, put the briefs in the washing machine along with the rest of your laundry. Select a cold-water setting and use your regular detergent. Do not use any fabric softener or bleach on your briefs.
Once the wash cycle is complete, remove the briefs from the machine and hang them up to air dry. Do not put them in the dryer as the heat may set the stain.
