Things You'll Need

  • Laundry detergent
  • Hot water
  • Oxygen bleach
  • White vinegar
  • Stain remover

Step 1: Pre-treat The Stain

First, immediately take your boxers and pre-treat the affected area with laundry detergent. Gently massage the detergent into the stain before putting your boxers in the washing machine.

Step 2: Wash In Hot Water

Next, put your boxers in the washing machine and set the washer to a cycle that uses hot water. Hot water helps to break down stain molecules, making them easier to remove.

Step 3: Add Oxygen Bleach

Once the washing machine is full, add a scoop of oxygen bleach to the load. This will help to further break down the stains and make them easier to remove.

Step 4: Use A Stain Remover

Once the laundry cycle is complete, take your boxers out of the washer and check for any remaining stains. If there are any, use a stain remover specifically designed for removing tomato sauce. Apply the stain remover directly to the affected area and let it sit for several minutes before washing boxers one more time.

Step 5: Treat With White Vinegar

For any particularly stubborn stains, treat the area with white vinegar. Soak a cloth in a solution of half water and half vinegar and dab the stained area. Let the vinegar soak in for several minutes before washing the boxers one last time.

Step 6: Air Dry Or Tumble Dry On Low Heat

Finally, air dry your boxers or, if you prefer, tumble dry them on a low heat setting. This will help ensure that all of the stains are removed and your boxers look like new again.
