The key to tackling tomato stains from belts is to be gentle. Start by dabbing at the stain with a clean, damp cloth and mild detergent. Work from the outside of the stain inwards to prevent it from spreading. Use a light hand when blotting, as scrubbing too hard will only push the stain further into fabric.
Once you’ve blotted the stain, let detergent sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing with cool water. Then use a soft brush to remove any remaining bits of food or residue. You may need to repeat process several times to get rid of the stain completely.
If the stain still won’t come out, try soaking it in a solution of warm water and laundry detergent overnight. Afterwards, rinse with cold water and again use a soft brush if needed. To avoid any potential damage, make sure you only launder the belt on the delicate cycle.
With these tips, you’re sure to get those tomato stains out of your belt in no time. Good luck!
