Step 1: Soak the Barrette in Water

Start by soaking the barrette in a bowl of lukewarm water. Let barrette sit for 15-20 minutes so that the stain has a chance to loosen up. After the barrette has soaked, take it out and gently rub the tomato stain with a soft cloth or brush.

Step 2: Mix Dish Detergent and Baking Soda Together

Next, create a cleaning solution by mixing together equal parts of dish detergent and baking soda. Make sure to mix the solution until any lumps have completely dissolved.

Step 3: Apply the Cleaning Solution to the Stained Area

Now, apply the cleaning solution to the area of the barrette that has the tomato stain. Gently scrub mixture into the stain with a soft-bristled brush and then rinse off with lukewarm water.

Step 4: Repeat Steps 2 and 3 Until the Stain is Gone

Depending on how long the stain has been on the barrette, you may need to repeat steps 2 and 3 several times until all of the tomato stain is gone. Be sure to rinse off the barrette with lukewarm water each time before applying the cleaning solution.

Step 5: Dry Barrette

Once the tomato stain is completely gone, dry the barrette off with a soft cloth to make sure all of the cleaning solution residue is gone as well.
