Cleaning tomato stains from fabric can be a challenge, especially if the fabric isn’t pre-treated for water or fading. Fortunately for Abercrombie & Fitch fans, there are a few tried-and-true methods for removing tomato stains from your favorite pieces of clothing. Here’s how to do it:
Act quickly to remove a tomato stain. If stain is still wet, rinse it with cold water first. Gently rub affected area between your fingers to help loosen and remove the stain.
Soak up as much of the stain as possible with a clean cloth or sponge. Don’t scrub the fabric or you risk damaging it. Blot until you’ve removed as much of the stain as possible, then rinse with cool water.
If the stain remains, apply a small amount of detergent directly to the area and work it in using a soft-bristled brush. Let the detergent sit for a few minutes, then rinse with cool water.
If the stain persists, try using white vinegar. Dilute vinegar with water in a ratio of 1:2, then apply it to the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rinse with cold water and repeat if necessary.
If none of the above methods work, you can try soaking the garment in baking soda and water. Mix 1/2 cup of baking soda with 1 gallon of cold water, and let the garment soak for at least an hour. Rinse with cool water and repeat if necessary.
Once you’ve removed the tomato stain, launder the garment as usual. Make sure to check for any remaining stains before drying.
With these easy steps, you can keep your Abercrombie & Fitch clothes looking fresh and new. Good luck!
