Step 1: Pre-treat the stain.

Start by blotting the tomato sauce stain with a clean cloth or towel. Don’t rub or scrub, as this will spread the stain and make it harder to remove. Try to cover the entire spot with a towel, then press down gently. This will help to absorb as much of the sauce as possible.

Step 2: Wash the dress in lukewarm water.

Fill a sink or basin with lukewarm water and add a mild detergent. Swish the wrap dress around in the solution for a few minutes to help break down stain. If the stain is still visible, repeat this step until it disappears.

Step 3: Rinse the dress thoroughly.

Once the stain has been removed, rinse the dress thoroughly in cold water to make sure all the soap residue is gone. Be sure to rinse until all of the suds have disappeared.

Step 4: Dry the dress.

Allow the wrap dress to air dry, but do not put it in dryer. The heat from dryer may cause the stain to set permanently.

Step 5: Repeat if necessary.

If the stain is still visible, go back and start at step one again. It may take a few tries to get it completely out. If the stain remains after multiple attempts, then it may be best to take the dress to a professional cleaner.
