What You’ll Need

Before you begin, you will need:

  • Clean white cloth or paper towels
  • Distilled white vinegar or borax solution
  • Cold water
  • Liquid detergent
  • Stain remover if needed

Method

Begin by blotting stained area with a clean white cloth or paper towel. Do not rub the stain, as this may spread the stain and make it more difficult to remove. The goal here is to blot up as much of sauce as possible.

Next, you can try using a distilled white vinegar or borax solution. For either one, mix 1 tablespoon of vinegar or borax solution with cold water in a small bowl. Dip the cloth or paper towel into this mixture and blot the stained area. Allow the mixture to sit on the stain for a few minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.

If the stain persists, you may need to use a stronger solution. In this case, mix a teaspoon of liquid detergent with 2 cups of cold water. Again, dip cloth or paper towel into this mixture and blot the stained area. Wait a few minutes before rinsing off with cold water. Repeat as necessary until the stain is gone.

For really stubborn stains, you may wish to use a stain remover. Before doing so, please read the instructions on the label carefully to ensure proper use and safety precautions.

Conclusion

Getting tomato sauce stains out of your white tie doesn’t have to be a daunting task. Follow the steps outlined in this article and you’ll be sure to remove those pesky stains in no time. Good luck!
