The first step is to blot the stain with a paper towel or cloth. This will help absorb some of the sauce and prevent it from spreading.
Create a mixture of white vinegar and cold water. Dip a clean cloth into this mixture and dab at the stained area. Be sure to work from the outside of stain inwards, so as not to spread it.
Wash garment according to manufacturer's instructions. For best results, use a laundry detergent that contains oxyclean, like OxiClean or Tide Plus Ultra Oxi. This will help break down the stain and make it easier to remove.
If stain is still visible after washing, you can try using a pre-treating solution. These are usually slightly stronger than the vinegar and water mixture and can help remove stubborn stains. Follow the instructions on the packaging, and be sure to test it on a small patch of fabric first before applying it to the stain.
With these steps, you'll be able to get rid of pesky tomato sauce stains from your traditional dress with ease!
