How to Easily Remove Tomato Sauce Stains from Socks

Tomato sauce stains can be tricky and stubborn to remove from your socks. But if you act quickly and use the right technique, you'll be able to get rid of them without ruining your socks.

What You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Cold water
  • Liquid detergent
  • A soft-bristled brush
  • Clean cloth or towel

The Process:

  1. Mix 2 cups of cold water with 1 tablespoon of white vinegar in a container large enough for your soiled socks.
  2. Soak your socks in mixture for 30 minutes.
  3. Take out the socks and scrub them gently with a soft-bristled brush. Make sure you do it gently and don’t damage fabric.
  4. Rinse the socks in cold water and squeeze the excess water out gently.
  5. Apply a small amount of liquid detergent on areas with remaining tomato sauce stains.
  6. Rub the stains out with a cloth or towel with circular motions.
  7. Rinse the socks in cold water again.
  8. Squeeze the excess water out and place the socks on a clean towel to dry.
