berry Tomato sauce adds a delicious flavor to many dishes, but it can be an unwelcome guest when it lands on your favorite silk outfit! Here are some tips to get rid of unsightly tomato sauce stains from silk.

Step 1: Rinse with Cold Water

It’s important to act quickly when you have a tomato sauce spill. Begin by rinsing the stained fabric with cold water, but don’t scrub it! This helps to remove any excess tomato sauce that remains on the fabric.

Step 2: Pre-treat with a Detergent

Mix some mild detergent with cold water, then use a cloth or brush to pre-treat the stain with the detergent mixture. Let the detergent sit on the stain for at least 15 minutes to allow it to penetrate the fabric.

Step 3: Rinse with Hot Water

Once the detergent has had time to do its work, rinse the fabric with hot water until there is no more detergent residue.

Step 4: Use a Stain Remover

If the stain is still there after you’ve rinsed item with hot water, apply a commercial stain remover to the affected area. Let the stain remover sit for about 10 minutes before washing in your washing machine.

Step 5: Allow to Air Dry

After washing the item, allow it to air dry. Be sure not to put item in the dryer, as the heat from the dryer can set stain permanently. By following these steps, you should have your silk outfit looking like new in no time! Just remember to act quickly and be gentle with the fabric to avoid making stain worse.
