We all know that tomato sauce can be a real menace when it comes to clothing. Whether you're eating pizza or tossing a salad, any accidental splashes of sauce can leave a noticeable stain on your favorite dress. And let's face it, no one likes dealing with a stubborn tomato sauce stain. Fortunately, there are several easy methods you can use to remove tomato sauce stains from your shift dress. Here's what you need to do:
1. Blot the Stain Immediately
The most important thing you need to do when dealing with a tomato sauce stain is to blot the affected area with a clean cloth or paper towel as soon as possible. This will help absorb excess liquid and prevent the stain from setting.
2. Pre-treat with a Natural Stain Remover
The next step is to pre-treat the stained area with a natural stain remover. You can make your own natural stain remover by mixing equal parts of water and white vinegar in a small bowl. Then, pour a few drops of the mixture onto the stained area and gently rub the fabric together.
3. Soak in Laundry Detergent
After pre-treating the stained area, it's time to soak the fabric in laundry detergent. To do this, fill a basin with warm water and add a generous amount of laundry detergent. Submerge the shift dress completely and let it soak for one hour.
4. Wash in the Washing Machine
Finally, wash fabric in the washing machine. To ensure the tomato sauce stain is totally removed, add a scoop of baking soda to the washer and use the hottest setting available on your machine. Once the cycle has finished, hang the dress to dry.
5. Check for Residue
Once the dress has dried, check for any remaining residue. If so, repeat steps 2-4 until the stain is gone and the fabric is back to its original color.
