Before beginning any cleaning process, do your best to blot up any excess stain with a clean, absorbent cloth. This will help reduce the amount of stain that you have to deal with before tackling it with other methods.
Mix together ½ teaspoon mild dishwashing liquid with 1 cup of warm water. You may also add a few drops of white vinegar to the mixture if you wish, as this can help to break down the stain and make the cleaning process easier.
Using a soft cloth or brush, apply the cleaning solution directly to the stained area. Work the cleaning solution into the fibers of the shoe, being sure to scrub gently in order to avoid damaging the shoe.
Once the cleaning solution has been applied, rinse the shoe with cold water. Use a clean cloth to pat shoe dry before allowing it to air dry completely.
