1. Blot the Stained Area

The first step to getting rid of tomato sauce stains is to blot the stained area with a dry cloth. Be sure to be gentle and never scrub the stain. This will help lift the majority of the sauce and prevent it from spreading further.

2. Pretreat the Stain

Once you have blotted the stained area on your rash guard, it’s time to pretreat the stain. You can use white vinegar, which is a natural cleaner that helps break down tomato stains. Simply mix together equal parts water and white vinegar and apply directly to the stained area using a sponge or cloth.

3. Wash the Rash Guard

After you have pretreated the stain, it’s time to finally wash rash guard. Most rash guards require cold water for washing since hot water can damage the fabric. Make sure to use a mild detergent that is designed for delicates or hand washing. For extra tough stains, you can add a bit of oxygen-based bleach to help break down the tomato sauce.

4. Dry

Once you’ve washed rash guard, it’s time to dry it. Generally, most fabric softeners should not be used on rash guards, so it’s best to line dry. However, if you must use a dryer, make sure to use the lowest setting and avoid any fabric softener.

5. Inspect the Rash Guard

Once you’ve dried rash guard, inspect it for remaining stains. If there are any stains still visible, repeat steps above until the stain has been completely removed.
