- Gently dab away as much of the excess sauce as possible with a clean towel or sponge. Don’t rub it — it may spread the stain further instead.
- Mix one part laundry detergent with two parts cold water in a bowl to create a cleaning solution. Avoid using hot water — it could set the stain.
- Soak the stain with the cleaning solution and let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Use a clean cloth to gently scrub the stained area in a circular motion. Avoid rubbing too hard.
- Rinse the area with cold water until all of the soap has been removed.
- Toss the raincoat into washing machine on a gentle cycle with a scoop of detergent.
- When the cycle has finished, hang raincoat to air dry and check for any remaining stains.
