Instructions

  • Start by scraping off as much of the sauce as possible with a butter knife or spoon.
  • Mix a solution of 1 quart warm water, 1 teaspoon clear dishwashing liquid, and 1 tablespoon white vinegar.
  • Using a clean cloth, apply the solution to the stain, working from the outside in.
  • Blot the stain with a damp cloth to wet it completely.
  • Let the area dry, then blot it with a clean towel to blot up any remaining solution.
  • Repeat until the stain is gone.
  • If the stain is still there, mix a paste of baking soda and water and gently rub the stain with the paste. Let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse it off with cold water.
  • Once the stain is removed, you may want to treat area with a fabric protector.
  • Wash the garment as usual.

Tips

  • Try not to let stain dry before treating it.
  • Don’t rub vigorously, as this can wear down the fabric.
  • When washing the garment, use a gentle, low-heat cycle.
