What You Need
- Cool water
- Mild detergent or dish soap
- White vinegar
- Hydrogen peroxide
Step-by-Step Guide
- Carefully inspect the stain. If it’s still wet, gently blot (don’t rub!) with a clean cloth to remove as much of the tomato sauce as possible.
- Mix ½ cup cool water and 1 teaspoon mild detergent or dish soap in a bowl, then dip a clean white cloth into the mixture.
- Gently dab soapy solution onto the stained area and keep dabbing until the tomato sauce begins to lift.
- If the stain persists, mix equal parts white vinegar and cool water in a bowl. Soak the stained area for 5 minutes.
- Blot the stain with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub.
- If the stain is still not gone, mix equal parts hydrogen peroxide and cool water. Dab on the stained area, let it sit for 10 minutes and then rinse.
- Finally, press organza fabric between clean paper towels to absorb remaining moisture. Do not wring out the organza.
Final Notes
- Always check manufacturer’s care instructions before following this guide, as some fabrics may require special treatment.
- It’s best to pretest all cleaning solutions in an inconspicuous area to make sure they won’t damage the fabric.
- Organza fabric is delicate, so it’s important to handle it gently throughout the cleaning process.
