The good news is that if you follow the right steps and use the correct cleaning product, these tomato sauce stains can easily be removed from macramé. Read on for simple instructions on how to remove tomato sauce stains from macramé.

Step 1: Pre-treat Stain

The first step in removing a tomato sauce stain from macramé is to pre-treat stain. Start by blotting the stain with a clean, dry cloth to absorb as much of the tomato sauce as possible. Then mix together a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar. Dip a clean cloth into the solution, and then gently dab stain with the cloth. Be careful not to rub too hard as this may damage the macramé fabric.

Step 2: Apply Detergent

Once you’ve pre-treated stain, it’s time to apply detergent. Start by dampening a clean cloth in cold water. Then add a small amount of a mild detergent, such as dishwashing soap or gentle laundry detergent, to the cloth. Gently rub the detergent into stained area. Focus on the area that was pre-treated with the vinegar solution. Again, try to be gentle. Rubbing too hard may damage the fabric.

Step 3: Rinse and Dry

After the detergent has been applied, rinse the stained area with cold water. Use a clean cloth and gently blot area until all of detergent has been rinsed off. Once the stain has been removed, hang the macramé up to air-dry. Avoid placing it in dryer, as this can cause shrinkage.
