What You Will Need
- Vacuum Cleaner
- White Cloth
- Mild Dish Soap
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Baking Soda
Steps to Remove the Stain
- Vacuum affected area thoroughly. This will help remove any lose pieces of tomato.
- Take your white cloth and wet it with a few drops of mild dish soap. Gently scrub the affected area. Take care not to rub too hard or you risk damaging the leather.
- If the stain is still visible, wet a fresh cloth with rubbing alcohol and dab it onto the stain.
- Let the rubbing alcohol sit for a few minutes. Afterward, take a dry cloth and buff the area.
- Sprinkle baking soda onto the stained area. Let it sit for around five minutes and then vacuum it up.
- You may have to repeat some of the steps if the stain is still visible. Be patient with the process as it can take time to fully remove the stain.
Additional Tips
- Make sure that the cloths you use are completely dry before each step.
- If you are ever unsure about whether a product or step is safe, test it on an inconspicuous area of the shoe first.
- Don’t wear shoes again until the stain is completely removed.
