The first step to cleaning up tomato sauce stains from your lingerie is to neutralize the stain. To do this, mix one part white vinegar to two parts water and dip a cloth into it. Apply the solution to the stained area and let it sit for about five minutes. This will help to break down the tomato sauce molecules and make it easier to remove.
Once solution has sat on the stain for a few minutes, it's time to soak the lingerie. Fill a sink or bucket with some lukewarm water and add a few drops of mild detergent. Submerge the lingerie in the water and let it soak for at least 10 to 15 minutes. This will further help to break down the tomato sauce molecules and make it easier to remove.
Once lingerie has finished soaking, it's time to scrub the stain. Gently rub the stained area with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild detergent. This should help to loosen any remaining particles of tomato sauce and make them easier to remove. It may take a few tries to get rid of the residue, so be patient.
Once you've removed as much of the tomato sauce as possible, it's time to rinse and dry the lingerie. Rinse lingerie with lukewarm water to remove any remaining detergent residue. Next, lay the lingerie out flat on a towel and allow it to air dry. Make sure to avoid direct sunlight as this could cause discoloration.
