Whether you have splashed tomato sauce on your polo shirt while cooking dinner or accidentally spilled some while eating out, tomato sauce can leave unsightly stains that are hard to remove. If your favourite Lacoste shirt or polo has been stained with tomato sauce, don’t panic – you can get rid of stain using some simple cleaning techniques.
Start by removing any excess liquid and solids from the stain. Do this carefully to avoid spreading the stain further. Use a clean cloth to blot the stain until no more liquid comes off. Don’t rub the area as this can push the stain further into the fabric and make it harder to remove.
Mix a solution of mild dish soap and cool water and dip a clean cloth into it. Gently dab stain with the cloth, taking care not to press too hard. Leave the soap to soak in for 15 minutes.
Wash garment in cool water on its own, without any other clothes. If you have a top-loading washing machine, use the gentle cycle. If you have a front-loading machine, opt for the delicate cycle. Make sure to use a mild detergent that is suitable for delicate fabrics.
Once the wash cycle is finished, hang the garment to air-dry. Do not put it in a hot dryer as this could set the stain. Once the garment is dry, check to see if the stain is still visible. If so, repeat steps 2–4 until the stain has gone.
By following these steps, you can easily clean tomato sauce stains from Lacoste clothing. The key is to act quickly and use the right cleaning technique to ensure stain is completely removed.
