Step 1: Wipe Away Excess Juice

The first step to removing tomato sauce stains is to scrape off any excess sauce or juice left on the lace. Use a spoon or butter knife to gently but firmly scrape away any buildup. Be careful to not press too hard or rub too vigorously so that you don’t damage the fabric.

Step 2: Pre-treat with Detergent

Once you’ve scraped away the excess sauce, the next step is pre-treating with detergent. Choose a laundry detergent that is specific for delicates, like lace. Make sure the detergent is suitable for the fabric of your lace item before using. Gently dab the detergent onto the stain and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse in Cold Water and Wash

Once you have pre-treated stain with detergent, rinse the area with cold water. If stain is still visible, repeat steps two and three until it has been completely removed. Finally, put the item into the washing machine on delicate cycle with a mild detergent. Hang up to air dry and your lace will be good as new!
