As soon as you notice the stain, take a white cloth or paper towel and press it against stain. This will help soak up some of tomato sauce and prevent it from spreading further into the fabric.
Once you’ve blotted stain with a cloth, apply a small amount of cleaning solvent to the area. It’s important to be careful when applying the solvent, as too much can cause the stain to spread. Let solvent sit for a few minutes before wiping it away with a damp cloth.
Once you’ve removed majority of the stain, fill a sink or basin with warm water and add a few drops of laundry detergent. Place the jumper in water and leave it to soak for at least 30 minutes. Afterward, remove the jumper and rinse off any remaining residue with cold water.
Once you’ve rinsed off the remaining residue, leave jumper out to dry in a well-ventilated area. Avoid putting the jumper in dryer, as the heat could set the stain and make it impossible to remove.
