Steps to Follow
- As soon as possible, take a clean, dry cloth and blot the stain until no excess sauce is left on the fabric. Don’t rub, as this can push stain further into the fibers.
- If the stain is still visible, mix a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar and dab it on affected area. Let it sit for five minutes, then rinse with cold water.
- If the stain persists, mix a solution of one teaspoon of liquid dish soap and one cup of warm water. Dab the mixture onto the stain and let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse with cold water.
- Repeat these steps as necessary until the stain has been removed.
- Once the stain is gone, launder item according to the care instructions on the label.
Tips
- Always test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous part of the fabric first to ensure it won’t cause damage.
- If the stain is not fully removed after laundering, repeat the steps until it is.
- The sooner you work to remove stain, the easier it will be.
