First, remove any excess tomato sauce residue from garment. Get a paper towel and gently blot the area to absorb as much of sauce as possible. Do not rub the area, since this could spread the stain further.

Next, fill your sink with cold water, and add an appropriate amount of a laundry detergent. Submerge the stained item in the solution and let it sit for an hour or two. If the stain persists, add a few drops of white vinegar to the solution before letting it soak.

You can then rinse the garment in cold water, and give it a good shake to get rid of excess moisture. It's important not to twist or wring the fabric, as that can damage material.

Tumble dry garment on a low-heat setting, or hang it to air dry. Once the garment is dry, check to make sure the stain is gone. Repeat the soap and water treatment if it’s still there, or apply a cleaner like spot remover or stain remover.

Finally, if the stain persists, take the garment to a professional dry cleaner. They may be able to use specialized treatments and solvents to remove the stain without damaging the fabric.
