When tomato sauce spills onto your hoodie, it's important to act quickly. The sooner you act, the better chance you have at completely removing the stain. Follow these easy steps to quickly and effectively get rid of that tomato sauce.

Step 1: Blotting

Start by quickly blotting the stain with a clean towel or cloth. Blotting will help to lift the excess tomato sauce from the hoodie without pushing it further down into the material. This step is crucial in getting as much of the stain out as possible.

Step 2: Treating with Detergent

Next, treat the stain by adding a small amount of detergent directly onto the stain. Make sure the detergent is specifically designed for use on clothes, as standard dishwashing detergent may contain ingredients that could damage the fabric of your hoodie. Gently rub the detergent into the material using your fingertips, then rinse the detergent away with cold water.

Step 3: Removing with Vinegar

If any minor tomato sauce stains remain, try removin them with white vinegar. To do this, mix two parts water with one part vinegar and apply the mixture directly to the stain. Allow the mixture to sit on the stain for 10-15 minutes, then dab away with a clean towel or cloth. Rinse the area thoroughly with cold water.

Step 4: Washing

As a final step, wash the hoodie according to its care instructions. Use gentle detergent and a cool cycle to ensure the fabric of the hoodie isn’t damaged. Hang the hoodie to dry, and the tomato sauce stains should be gone for good!
