- Treat the stain as soon as possible. Soak a cloth in cold water and dab the stain to remove as much of the tomato sauce as you can. This should prevent the sauce from settling into the fabric.
- When the area is damp, place a small amount of dish soap or a laundry detergent onto the stain. Rub the soap gently and thoroughly into fabric. Take care not to rub too hard and damage the delicate fabric.
- Rinse the area with cold water to remove the soap. Check to make sure the stain has been removed.
- If the stain remains, mix ¼ cup white vinegar with ½ cup warm water and pour the mixture onto the stain. Allow the vinegar to soak in for around 10 minutes, before dabbing area with a clean cloth.
- Finally, rinse the area with cold water and allow the garment to air dry.
