The first step to removing tomato sauce stains is to mix a small amount of liquid laundry detergent with warm water. Once you have the mixture ready, use a clean white cloth or sponge to dab the stain with the detergent solution. Allow the solution to soak into stain and then rinse the fabric in cold water.
If the stain is still there after using detergent, try using vinegar. Start by mixing 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with 2 cups of warm water. Use a clean white cloth to dab the stain with the vinegar solution. After letting it soak for a couple of minutes, rinse the fabric in cold water.
Baking soda is another great option for removing tomato sauce stains from dashikis. All you need to do is mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 2 tablespoons of water. Dab the stain with the baking soda solution and allow it to sit for five to 10 minutes. Then rinse the fabric with cool water.
Dish soap is also very effective in removing tomato sauce stains from dashikis. Start by mixing 1 teaspoon of dish soap with 1 cup of warm water. Dip a clean white cloth into the solution and dab at the stain until it is completely eliminated. Finally, rinse the fabric with cool water.
If all else fails, try using ammonia. Mix 1 tablespoon of ammonia with 2 cups of warm water. Dab stain with the ammonia solution and let it sit for a few minutes. Finally, rinse the fabric with cold water.
