What You Will Need
- Baking soda
- White vinegar
- Small bowl
- Stiff brush
Instructions
- Sprinkle baking soda over the tomato sauce stain.
- Add white vinegar to small bowl.
- Dip the stiff brush into the vinegar.
- Scrub the baking soda on the cutting board with the vinegar-dipped brush.
- Continue to scrub the area until the stain is gone.
- Rinse the cutting board off with water to remove any remaining residue from the vinegar.
- Allow the cutting board to dry before using again.
Additional Tips
- If the stain does not respond to baking soda and vinegar, another option is to use a paste made of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Apply the paste to stain, allow to sit for 5-10 minutes and then scrub with a brush.
- If the tomatoes are greasy, use a bit of dish soap to clean the board after vinegar and baking soda.
