To get started, get a washcloth that has been soaked and wrung out with cold water. Gently blot the stain and work outward to limit stain’s spread. Do not rub the area as this can cause the tomato sauce to penetrate deeper into the fabric.
Get a stain remover or laundry detergent and dab it onto the stained area. Work the solution in gently with a rag or soft-bristled brush, then let fabric sit for about 10 minutes so the product has time to break down the stain.
Put the crepe in the washing machine and set the temperature to cold. Select the light cycle and add a mild detergent. Make sure the load is not overloaded and that the crepe can move freely, as overcrowded loads may cause crepe to tear and make the stain worse.
After crepe is washed, take it out and hang it on a cloth hanger in the shade. Do not put it in the dryer as the heat could further set stain. If the stain is still present, repeat the above steps.
