Steps to Remove Tomato Sauce Stains from Cotton Seersucker

  1. Hold the stained fabric under cold running water. Rinse the stain until the water runs clear.
  2. Apply a generous amount of dish soap onto the stain and work it into a lather.
  3. Rinse fabric under cold running water again.
  4. Spray the stain with vinegar and water solution and let it sit for a few minutes. This will help to break down the stain.
  5. Blot the stain with a paper towel and cover it with your white cloth. Then, press the cloth onto stain with a warm iron. Continue this until the stain lifts.
  6. Once you’ve finished pressing the stain, rinse it with cold water. Then, launder the item as usual using mild detergent.

Additional Tips

  • Always read the care instructions on your garment before attempting any stain removal procedure.
  • If the stain persists, try soaking the fabric in a solution of water and laundry detergent for a few hours before rewashing.
  • After laundering, always air dry your clothing instead of putting them in the dryer.
