As soon as you spot the stain, grab a clean cloth and gently blot the area to absorb as much of the tomato sauce as possible. It is important that you never rub the stain, as this could cause it to spread and make it more difficult to remove.
Mix together some mild detergent, white vinegar, and lukewarm water in a container. Dip a sponge into the mixture and apply it directly to the tomato sauce stain. Allow pre-treatment solution to sit on the stain for 15 minutes before continuing the cleaning process.
Create an additional mixture using a few drops of mild detergent and lukewarm water. Take a clean cloth and submerge it in the solution. Wring out the cloth so that it is damp, not wet. Gently rub cloth over the area with the stain, taking care to not rub too hard. Rinse the cloth out often with clean water to remove the residues.
Once you have finished washing the area, use a clean and dry cloth to pat it dry. Allow the area to air-dry completely before moving onto the next step.
If any stains remain, mix together white vinegar and lukewarm water in a container and dip a sponge into the solution. Rub the sponge over the area to remove any remaining stains. Allow the solution to sit on the fabric for 15 minutes before rinsing it off with clean water.
