Step 1: Prepare the Cleaning Solution

Mix one teaspoon of liquid detergent and one cup of lukewarm water. Stir two together until detergent is fully dissolved.

Step 2: Pretreat the Stain

Using an old toothbrush or a small scrub brush, dab cleaning solution on the tomato sauce stain. Start from the outside of the stain and move towards the center. This will help to prevent the stain from spreading further.

Step 3: Cover Stain with Salt

Sprinkle salt on the affected area. Make sure that the entire stain is covered. Let the salt soak for about 10 minutes.

Step 4: Remove Salt

Use a vacuum cleaner to remove the salt. For best results, use an upholstery attachment to ensure that all the salt is removed.

Step 5: Rinse Stain

Once salt has been removed, rinse the stained area with cold water. Make sure to rinse the fabric until the water runs clear.

Step 6: Launder the Fabric

Once the fabric has been rinsed, machine wash it in cold water with a color-safe detergent. Avoid using bleach and fabric softeners since these products can damage the fabric.

Step 7: Air Dry

Once the fabric has been washed, air dry it away from direct sunlight. Once the fabric has dried, inspect for any remaining stains. If any remain, repeat the process until the stain has been completely removed.
