Being out and about with your favorite pair of Converse is always an exciting time, but when an unexpected tomato sauce stain appears, it can feel like all your fun times have gone out the window. Although tomato sauce can be a bit tricky to remove from a fabric, like Converse shoes, there are some simple steps you can follow to making cleaning a breeze.

What You’ll Need

To get started, you’ll need some basic household items:

  • Dish soap
  • A medium-bristled brush
  • Microfiber cloth
  • Towel

Cleaning Steps

  1. Create a mixture of warm water and dish soap in a container and mix it together until the bubbles form.
  2. Using the brush, apply a small amount of the mixture onto the stain.
  3. Gently scrub the area for about 30 seconds.
  4. Rinse the spot with lukewarm water. You can use a slightly damp towel to help rinse the area if needed.
  5. Once area is sudsy and rinsed, use microfiber cloth to dab and dry the area.
  6. Allow the shoe to air dry overnight.

That’s it! Once your Converse is completely dried, you should be able to enjoy your favorite pair of shoes again with no pesky tomato sauce stains.
