What You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Cold water
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Sponge or cotton swab

Step One: Blot the Stain

Once you've noticed tomato sauce stain, blot the area with a clean cloth or sponge. Do not rub, as this can spread the stain. Instead, press lightly and remove as much of the sauce as possible.

Step Two: Make a Paste

In a small bowl, combine equal parts white vinegar, baking soda, and cold water to create a paste. Spread the paste over the stained area and allow it to sit for several minutes.

Step Three: Scrub with a Sponge or Cotton Swab

Once the paste has had time to set, wet a clean sponge or cotton swab and lightly scrub the area. Do not scrub too hard, as this could damage the lace.

Step Four: Rinse with Cold Water

Rinse the area with cold water, making sure all of the paste has been removed. You may need to repeat steps two through four if the stain is still visible.

Step Five: Spot Clean with Rubbing Alcohol

Lightly dab the stained area with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. Allow the area to air dry.
