Tomato sauce is a favorite condiment in many households, but it can quickly become a nightmare for laundry when it is spilled. Many times it is impossible to remove the stain with even the most powerful stain remover.
As soon as you notice the stain, take a clean cloth or paper towel and gently blot the fabric. You want to make sure that you are not rubbing the stain in further, so use a light touch as you blot. This will help to absorb some of liquid that is causing the stain.
Next, you will want to pre-treat stain with a specialty stain remover or a mild detergent. Apply the product to fabric and let it sit for several minutes. This will begin the process of breaking down the stain so that it can be removed more easily.
After the pre-treatment process, fill a sink or basin with hot water and submerge the camisole. Let it soak for at least 30 minutes to allow the pre-treatment to work its magic. The heat from the water will help to loosen any stubborn stains.
Next, launder camisole as usual. Be sure to check the care instructions on the garment before doing so. Depending on how sensitive the fabric is, you may want to use cold water and a gentle cycle to ensure best results.
Once the cycle is complete, check the stain before removing the camisole from the washer. Depending on severity of the stain, you may need to repeat some of the steps above. If necessary, re-treat the stain and/or soak in hot water once again before laundering.
With the right approach, you can easily remove those pesky tomato sauce stains from your camisole. Follow the five steps outlined above and you'll have that garment looking good as new in no time!
