As with all stain removal, the key is to act quickly. The sooner you treat a tomato sauce stain, the easier it will be to remove. Immediately blot the excess sauce off the fabric with a clean paper towel. Don't rub the stain; this will only further force it into the fabric and make it harder to remove later on.
Once the excess sauce is removed, you can pre-treat the stain by applying a commercial stain remover or a mixture of water, dish soap, and white vinegar. You can use a soft brush to gently work the solution into fabric before allowing it to sit for about 15 minutes. Then, wipe off the solution with a damp cloth.
After pre-treating, launder the garment according to manufacturer's instructions. Make sure to use cold water and a mild detergent. For added stain removal power, you can add a teaspoon of borax or oxygen bleach to the wash. Allow the garment to air dry.
If the stain remains, repeat steps two and three until it is gone. It may take a few attempts to fully remove the stain, but with patience and persistence, you should be able to get your Burberry back to its original state.
