Step One: Blot Up the Excess Sauce

The first step to getting tomato sauce out of your briefs is to blot up as much of the excess as possible. Grab a paper towel, press it gently against the stained area, and press firmly down to absorb as much of the sauce as possible. Do not rub the stain as you could spread it even further.

Step Two: Treat with a Laundry Stain Remover

Once you've successfully blotted the excess sauce off your briefs, the next step is to treat the stain with a laundry stain remover. Spray stain liberally until the fabric is saturated. Wait 10 minutes before washing. This will give the cleaner time to work its magic and break down the stubborn tomato sauce.

StepThree: Wash as Usual

After letting the stain remover sit, you can then toss your briefs into the washing machine. Use your normal detergent and wash on the hottest setting possible, which should help remove any remaining tomato sauce residue. If possible, use an oxygen-based bleach instead of chlorine bleach. Oxygen bleach is gentler on fabrics and will do a better job of removing the tomato sauce stains.

Step Four: Air Dry or Tumble Dry Low

Once the washing cycle is finished, you can hang your briefs up to air dry. Or, if you prefer, tumble dry them on the low setting. Do not use the highest heat setting as this might make the tomato sauce stain even more difficult to remove.
