To start, find a sink or basin that you can use to soak the stained area. Fill the sink with warm water and add a few drops of a gentle detergent like Woolite or a dish soap. Make sure to stir the mixture until the soap dissolves into the water.
Carefully submerge the stained area of the boot into the soapy water. All of the stained fabric should be fully submerged. Let the area soak for 10-15 minutes.
Gently scrub the stained area using a soft brush. You can also use a cloth dipped in the soapy water to rub the stained area. The goal here is to lightly remove any excess tomato sauce without damaging the boot.
Rinse the stained area with cold water. Make sure all of soap is removed from the boot.
Wrap boot in an old towel to absorb any excess moisture. Place the boot in a well-ventilated area that is away from direct sunlight and allow it to air dry.
If the stain still remains, repeat steps 2-5. You may need to do this several times to remove stain completely. It's important to be patient and not rush the process.
Once the stain is gone, brush the boots with a shoe brush to give them a polished look. You can also use a leather conditioner to protect material of the boots if they are made of leather.
