The first step is to act fast. As soon as you've noticed stain, remove the garment and blot the area with a dry cloth or napkin to absorb any excess sauce. Make sure not to rub the stain, as this could spread it further.
If any sauce remains, pre-treat the area with a laundry stain remover or a dab of dish soap. Rub the soap in gently and let it sit for 15 minutes. If you're dealing with a stubborn stain, try adding a sprinkle of baking soda over the top of the sudsy area to help lift it.
Once the stain has been pre-treated, fill a basin with hot water and add an enzyme-based detergent. Submerge the garment and swish it around gently in soapy water. Let it soak for 30 minutes before rinsing it thoroughly.
Finally, hang the garment outside to dry. Once it has dried, double-check to make sure stain has been completely removed. If not, repeat steps 2-4 until stain is fully gone.
