Start by Removing as Much Tar as Possible

Gently scrape away any excess tar with a butter knife or other blunt object. Do not scrub the stain, as it could spread and cause further damage to your garment.

Create a Cleaning Solution

Mix together equal parts white vinegar, rubbing alcohol, and lukewarm water in a bowl. Thoroughly stir the solution to blend everything together. The vinegar helps dissolve the stain, while the alcohol helps lift it from the fabric.

Use a Clean Towel to Apply the Solution

Take a clean towel and dip it into the solution. Wring out any excess liquid and blot affected areas of the yoga pants. Be sure not to rub, as this could cause the spread of stain.

Rinse with Cold Water

Run the stained area through cold water. This will help remove any lingering residue. Repeat this process until water runs clear.

Launder the Garment

Once the stain is gone, you can launder garment according to its care label instructions. Use a gentle detergent and cold water. Hang item to dry or dry on the lowest setting.

Tips to Remember

  • Be sure to remove any excess tar before beginning the cleaning process.
  • Do not rub the stained area, as this could cause the tar to spread.
  • Rinse the garment multiple times until the water runs clear.
  • Always launder according to care label instructions.
